Tanzania is divided in two parts (Zanzibar and Tanganyika) with independent Trademark Registries
Multi Class filing is not possible
Tanganyika – Registration is granted for a period of 7 years and is renewable for periods of 10 years
Zanzibar- Registration is granted for a period of 14 years and is renewable for similar periods
Examination is conducted on absolute and relative grounds
Opposition period – Zanzibar 3 months; Tanganyika 2 months
Registration Timeline – Approximately 1 year
